THE SOUL IS BEING
When Moses asked God to describe Himself, God replied, “I Am That I Am.” If we approach His
explanation by taking time out of it, then we see that - God Is because He Is, meaning no entity
created Him and He is timeless existing in infinity which is beyond eternity and human
comprehension.
God created us in His Likeness and Image. Not His Just Alikeness. His mandate is recorded: "Be
you perfect, even as I am perfect." We are not made in His Just Alikeness but in His Likeness. We
can say ‘I Am.” Had He made us just like Himself, there would be no difference between God and
us. Therefore, made in His Likeness, we are given personality and the free will to choose to follow
His will. We have to earn perfection through an eternity of right choices and experiences as we
grow spiritually.
In creating us, He gave his children (us) the ability to say I am, we are and we will be. That we can
say, “I am”, gives us eternity potential if we choose to follow His will. This also means that we have
being which is an eternal state of existence - indestructible. Animals are not beings. The free-will
mandate is absolute and no spiritual entity can abrogate this will of God. There is a difference
between life as it is materially understood and our spiritual, eternal existence, being. When God
created the heavens and the earth he also created the patterns of the life forms of plants, animals,
humans. In creating mankind, He instills a soul in each individual that has eternity potential. God
gives nothing that is impermanent. Humans are drawn to worship and this spiritual gravity is
evidence of our soul responding to a higher spiritual calling. This is additional evidence that we
have being and no material or spiritual entity can destroy a God created soul. Plants, animals and
our bodies have limited lives but our souls are eternity responsive and this gives us spiritual
reality. We are enduring, on-going personalities.
In creating mankind, God gave us an ascension plan that guides man upward as he grows
spiritually. This plan requires billions of years to work out. One earthly lifetime is seen as a
crucible that begins to mold new spiritual entities into eternity qualified citizens of the spiritual
universe. One earthly lifetime doesn’t’ begin to give a budding spirit the time or opportunity to
learn all there is to be absorbed and experienced in the spiritual universe adventure.
From a universe perspective, we are young, very young spirits in disposable bodies.
