Spiritual Awareness
In this world we compete with our material natures to gain greater material things and
material gain.
God is infinite and, in creating us He imbued us with spiritual natures which we can either
ignore or gravitate to in this life and then experience in eternity. The Urantia Book tells us
that our spiritual pathways are opened with our first moral decisions as young children.
We do not compete with one another for spirituality. Our spiritual awareness is generated
from within and we are unable to measure our own spiritual development in comparison to
that of others. We can and do recognize others who are spiritually inclined.
The Urantia Book tells us there are no identical personalities. Personalities approach life
from many different perspectives. As a result, one individual’s spiritual development will not
compare with another’s except that we are all in a position to grow spiritually.
Marked spiritual growth is enhanced by foregoing dependence for inner happiness upon
materiality. The spiritually mature under-stand all things material cease to exist at some
point in the future.
Entering eternity from a spiritually based life on Urantia is the beginning of a life of spiritual
growth forever.
