ETERNAL LIFE
                                Baker Jordan

Moses asked God to describe Himself and the reply was, “I AM THAT I AM.”  This has no
meaning unless we mortals take time out of that answer.  God is because He is.

God, being infinite, is timeless and the great cosmic question remains and will remain,
“How did God start?”  God is and ever shall be.  Think of this – all creation exists in the
mind of God.  You and I exist in the mind of God.

God made man in His Likeness and Image. God did not make us in His just-alikeness;
otherwise, there would be no difference between God and us.  He made us in His Like-
ness and Image, but not perfect.   He gave us free will to choose Him or not. God
commanded us to become perfect even as He is by using our freedom of choice to
choose Him.  He gave each of us the gift of being able to state, “I am”.  Only humans can
make this statement and this implies a God-given, non-destructible state of existence.

‘I am’ is part of the verb ‘to be’ and this means we have been given being.  If we are, then
we have being, and God has given us eternity potential.  We strengthen our eternity
potential by building our spiritual credits as we live life here on earth.

Remember the parable about the master who, prior to leaving for a season, gave one
servant 10 talents, another 5 talents and the third 1 talent.  The servant who buried his
one talent was called an unfaithful servant and chastised by his master upon the master’s
return.  The meaning of this parable is that one must grow his or her spiritual talents, no
matter how small or great,
since God’s Kingdom is dynamic, not static.  The understanding of Truth is ever unfolding
from the lesser to the greater.

We humans are birthed on a highly material plane and we are more material than
spiritual.  Even so, we Beings, created by God, and who follow God’s will, cannot cease to
exist.

As eternity unfolds we grow upward and inward toward the Center of Creation in new
spiritual growth and experience.

Temporal securities are vulnerable, but spiritual sureties are impregnable.
